Our Sustainability Journey
At Samiya, sustainability is woven into every detail of the guest experience—where thoughtful design, cultural heritage, and environmental responsibility come together in harmony.
Where Sustainability Meets Comfort
Our approach to hospitality is rooted in the belief that luxury and sustainability can coexist effortlessly. By reducing greenhouse gas emissions, protecting biodiversity, and embracing low-impact living, we offer a stay that is both indulgent and environmentally conscious.
From the earliest design stages to daily operations, Samiya has been created with one purpose in mind: to preserve and protect the natural beauty of Bali while offering guests a deeply restorative experience.

Thoughtful Design & Local Craftsmanship
Our villas are designed to work in harmony with the environment. High-quality insulation helps rooms stay naturally cool, reducing the need for energy-intensive air conditioning while maintaining comfort.
Each roof is crafted from traditional Balinese alang-alang thatch, sourced and built by local artisans—celebrating cultural heritage while supporting the local community. Inside, furniture and décor are made from locally sourced materials, showcasing the skill and creativity of Balinese craftsmanship.

Energy Efficiency & Renewable Power
We generate a significant portion of our energy on-site through solar power, reducing reliance on conventional energy sources and lowering our carbon footprint. This system works seamlessly with our energy-efficient infrastructure, including low-consumption lighting and naturally ventilated spaces.
Additional features such as ceiling fans, openable windows with insect screens, and solar-powered outdoor lighting further minimise energy usage across the resort.

Water Conservation & Regeneration
Water is one of Bali’s most precious resources, and we take its conservation seriously. Our rainwater harvesting system supports landscape irrigation, while our on-site bio sewage treatment plant recycles wastewater to nourish surrounding plant life.
Through these systems, we reduce waste, conserve freshwater, and contribute to a more sustainable ecosystem.
Restoring Nature & Supporting Biodiversity
Samiya was built on land that has been carefully restored into a thriving green oasis. Native trees, shrubs, and grasses have been planted to regenerate the ecosystem, attract pollinators, and enhance biodiversity.
Our landscaping focuses on local, climate-appropriate plants that require less water and maintenance, ensuring long-term sustainability.
Conscious Materials & Operations
Every aspect of our construction and operations reflects our environmental commitment:
- Eco-friendly villas built with locally sourced, sustainable materials
- Rockwool roof insulation to reduce heat absorption
- Chemical-free water filtration systems
- Eco- and skin-friendly pool sanitation
- Climate-conscious cleaning products and detergents
- Use of eco-compliant tools, materials, and amenities throughout the resort
Sustainable Dining & Wellness
In our restaurant, sustainability meets flavour. Our menu celebrates fresh, locally grown, organic ingredients, with a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes designed to nourish both guests and the planet.
In our spa, this philosophy continues. Wherever possible, we use locally sourced and organic ingredients in our treatments, ensuring a wellness experience that is not only deeply restorative, but also gentle on the environment and supportive of local producers.

Our Commitment
Our passion for sustainability is not an addition—it is part of who we are. It guides our decisions, shapes our spaces, and defines the experience we offer.
At Samiya, every stay contributes to something greater: a more balanced relationship between hospitality and the natural world.
